A beach clean-up with the Kefalonia Dimos and volunteers from www.Wildlifesense.com was held on Wednesday 5th June 2013. The cleanup started from the Camp site on the Fanari road and ended by the marina on Argostoli Sea front with many bags of rubbish disposed of. Greeks, English and even an American worked together to pick up every piece of rubbish over a 1 and half kilometre distance.

The clean-up campaign by the Argostoli Dimos is expected to last 10 days. The aim is to make the beaches and sea areas a clean and pleasant place for tourists and locals to see and use, even though there is very little funding to do it. Immediately after the Eglina beach was cleared by the crew, a turtle nested on it the very next evening, a tribute to the crews hard work!!! Well done to all!!
