New sea turtle nest in Makris Gialos
This morning our survey team found the tracks of a sea turtle which crawled between hundreds of sunbeds all the way to the back of the beach. The turtle crawled on a wide wooden walkway before reaching the public toilets. There she laid 68 eggs in the sand. Due to the very high traffic and the number of sunbeds, hatchlings from this nest would never be able to reach the sea. For this reason, our team relocated the nest to a less busy location, from where the hatchlings will safely make it to the sea. Wildlife Sence Ανακάλυψη νέας φωλιάς θαλάσσιας χελώνας στον Μακρή Γιαλό
