Please help us.  You may be aware that Doris ARK (Animal Rescue Kefalonia) is run by only two full-time volunteers: Marina Machado and Joyce Broekmann.  Both ladies work practically 24/7, 365 days of the year with no pay and no holiday.  Doris ARK has over 280 dogs and 100 cats - each and every day is therefore a massive physical task for Marina and Joyce, especially on the majority of days when there are no other volunteers to help,  and there are still many other animals requiring Marina and Joyce's help on Kefalonia.

Our mission is to petition the local government ("the Municipality") to fund full-time staff to help feed, clean, and rehabilitate the Doris Ark animals.  Paid staff would enable Joyce to concentrate on re-homing the dogs and cats to loving homes all over the world.   Extra staff would also allow Marina to help rescue other animals in need on Kefalonia.

Marina has over 40 years experience in animal welfare together with a fluent understanding of Greek culture and language.  She is, therefore, qualified to act with considerable authority and respect.   With more time she will be available to visit schools, remote villages, farmers, and other organisations throughout the island to educate and talk about the advantages of being more loving, compassionate, caring and respectful towards all creatures great and small.
