Έκθεση Σύγχρονης Ελληνικής Τέχνης

BELGRAVIA GALLERY, Λονδίνο

Τέσσερις Ελληνίδες ζωγράφοι θα εκθέσουν έργα τους, κυρίως παραστατικά, στην BELGRAVIA GALLERY στο Λονδίνο από 3 έως 31 Οκτωβρίου 2016. Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης θα γίνουν την Τετάρτη 5 Οκτωβρίου από τις 6:00 – 9:00 μ.μ.

Οι Εύα Αποστολάτου, Κάτια Βαρβάκη, Λήδα Κοντογιαννοπούλου και Βίκη Σταματοπούλου, θα εκθέσουν πίνακές τους που περιλαμβάνουν τοπία, θαλασσογραφίες, φιγούρες, νεκρές φύσεις - μερικές με παλιούς χάρτες, έγχρωμες φόρμες και σύμβολα, συνθέσεις και μικτές κατασκευές.

Επιμελητής της έκθεσης είναι ο Γιώργος Σταθόπουλος, ο οποίος έχει διοργανώσει σημαντικές εκθέσεις στην BELGRAVIAGALLERYτην τελευταία δεκαετία. Ο κ. Σταθόπουλος, παρουσιάζοντας στο Λονδίνο τις ανερχόμενες και ταλαντούχες ζωγράφους για πρώτη φορά σε ομαδική έκθεση, αναφέρει, «Πιστεύω ότι οι τέσσερις αυτές Ελληνίδες ζωγράφοι προσφέρουν κάτι το διαφορετικό και συναρπαστικό στο φιλότεχνο κοινό του Λονδίνου, που θα παρουσιάσουν μια ενδιαφέρουσα εικόνα της Ελληνικής τέχνης και των εικαστικών τάσεων που υπάρχουν στη σημερινή Ελλάδα.»

Η έκθεση θα έχει ευρεία δημοσιογραφική κάλυψη (και από τηλεοπτικά μέσα) τόσο στην Αθήνα όσο και στο Λονδίνο αλλά και στις Η.Π.Α. Στα εγκαίνια της 5ης Οκτωβρίου ως επίτιμοι προσκεκλημένοι θα παρευρεθούν απόφοιτοι του Πανεπιστημίου GeorgeWashington(Washington, D.C.) των Η.Π.Α. οι οποίοι διαμένουν στο Λονδίνο. Φιλότεχνοι, επίσης, αναμένεται να παρευρεθούν από το Λονδίνο,το Παρίσι, τις Βρυξέλλες και την Αθήνα.

Οι ιδιοκτήτριες της BELGRAVIAGALLERY, κυρίες AnnaHunterκαι LauraWalfordέχουν επανειλημμένα υποστηρίξει και προβάλει του Έλληνες ζωγράφους και την Ελληνική τέχνη τα τελευταία χρόνια.

εργασιακό περιβάλλον στην κατηγορία της τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και την Ευρώπη, πέραν

προετοιμασίας της και μέχρι την υλοποίηση της έκθεσης.

Επισυνάπτονται σε HighDefinition εικόνες των έργων των τεσσάρων ζωγράφων τηςέκθεσης για δημοσιογραφική κάλυψη και χρήση.

Greek Contemporary Art exhibition at Belgravia Gallery

‘GREEK ART TODAY’

October 5th, 2016 - Private View Opening

Four Greek artists will be exhibiting their paintings at Belgravia Gallery in

London from October 3rd to October 31st. The Private View will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, 6-8pm.

The four participating artists are: Eva Apostolatou, Leda Contogiannopoulou,

Vicky Stamatopoulou and Katia Varvaki. Primarily representational in style, their works portray a broad range of subject matters including figurative compositions, still lifes, interiors, landscapes, sea views, old maps, and mixed-media constructions.

The exhibition is curated by George Stathopoulos in association with Belgravia Gallery. They have worked together on a number of exhibitions at Belgravia Gallery over the last nine years with significant success. They are presenting to London these dynamic, up-and-coming artists who are exhibiting together for the first time. In the curator’s own words: “I believe these artists will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to London audiences who will be introduced to an important facet of the contemporary Greek art scene.”

During the Private View evening of October 5th, the London alumni of the George Washington University (Washington D.C.) will attend as guests of honour. As a George Washington University alumni himself the curator, along with Arlinda Mezini, Head of the GW London Alumni chapter, and Maggie Wilson, International Alumni Liaison, is organising this evening event in order to enrich the alumni network's understanding of contemporary art and to connect the U.K., U.S. and Greek art scenes.

The exhibition will receive wide press coverage in Athens, London and Washington D.C. and attendees are expected from Athens, Brussels, Paris, and Stockholm.

The artists and curator would like to express their great appreciation to Belgravia Gallery and Directors, Anna Hunter and Laura Walford, for hosting this fine exhibition and for their continued dedication in supporting and promoting Greek artists.
